The Unity Labour Party (ULP) has officially unveiled its new political manifesto, a comprehensive document that outlines the party’s developmental agenda, achievements, and national vision ahead of the upcoming general election. While the digital version is still pending upload, the manifesto is being printed and is set to be physically distributed at the ULP’s major concert and launch event later today.

At the heart of the manifesto is a detailed letter from Prime Minister Dr. Hon. Ralph Gonsalves, who reflects on the party’s journey, its record of governance, and the direction it intends to take the country in the years ahead. In his message, Gonsalves emphasizes continuity, resilience, and a long-term national transformation rooted in the wellbeing of citizens.

A Record of Progress

The letter highlights what the Prime Minister describes as years of steady advancement across multiple sectors. He points to investments in infrastructure, economic stability, and human development as central pillars of the ULP administration’s work.

According to the message, the past five years have seen major achievements:

  • Improved roads and transportation networks
  • Expanded educational opportunities and training programmes
  • Growth in health services and community support systems
  • Continued economic recovery and job creation
  • Large-scale construction and national development projects

Gonsalves stresses that these gains were achieved despite global shocks, economic pressures, and natural challenges. He frames the progress as the product of careful planning, people-centered policies, and what he describes as “resilience born from purpose.”

A Vision for the Next Term

Looking ahead, the manifesto outlines the ULP’s commitment to deepening national transformation. The message makes clear that the next phase will focus on sustaining and accelerating progress through investments in technology, innovation, education, public safety, and economic expansion.

Gonsalves notes that infrastructure development — from roads to public buildings to national facilities — will remain a priority. But equally important, he says, will be investments in people, particularly the working class, youth, and vulnerable groups.

The manifesto reaffirms the belief that “progress must always be rooted in the upliftment of our people.” This includes expanding access to skills training, supporting small businesses, promoting agricultural modernization, and strengthening social protection services.

A People-Centered Future

The Prime Minister’s letter reiterates that the ULP’s long-standing philosophy remains unchanged: governance must be built on compassion, practical leadership, and love for the nation. He emphasizes that development is not merely about physical structures but also about improving lives and ensuring fairness across society.

The message calls for unity, urging citizens to continue the journey with the ULP. “Let’s move forward — together,” the letter concludes, signaling a call for renewed mandate and collective national purpose.
