The National Liberation Movement (NLM) has launched its first full election manifesto, setting out a five-year programme it says is aimed at “liberating” St Vincent and the Grenadines from economic stagnation and weak governance.
The 2025–2030 document outlines plans to limit prime ministers to two terms, strengthen oversight bodies such as the Public Accounts Committee, and introduce a Freedom of Information framework and stronger anti-corruption laws. It also promises fixed election dates and revived village and community councils.
On the economy, the NLM proposes a debt-reduction drive, a major push to revive agriculture and fisheries, development of the blue and green economies, and lower utility and living costs. The party says it wants unemployment cut to single digits through support for agro-processing, small business, and youth entrepreneurship.
Other headline pledges include a National Youth Service Programme, expanded technical and vocational training, a National Health Insurance Scheme prioritising minors and pensioners, and upgraded health and sports facilities nationwide.
The manifesto, built around the slogan “Together We Will”, also sets out a tighter implementation and monitoring framework, with annual performance reports for each ministry and regular public consultations on government delivery.
