A family from Bequia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, is urgently seeking information regarding Donley Hazell, who has been reported missing while at sea.
Hazell, a Vincentian national, was a crew member aboard the vessel Gulf Meridian, which reportedly departed Santo Domingo en route to Montserrat, with onward travel to Antigua. According to information received by the family, the last known transmission from the vessel was on December 13, after which it went off radar. No further communication has been established since.
Relatives say the news has been especially devastating, as Hazell was expected to return home during this period to attend the funeral of his mother, whose burial preparations are currently underway. Instead, the family was informed of his disappearance, compounding their grief.
At present, details surrounding the incident remain limited. The family is appealing to maritime authorities, shipping operators, and members of the public for any information that may assist in locating Hazell or the vessel.
They are urging anyone who may have seen the Gulf Meridian, received distress signals, or has relevant information—no matter how minor—to come forward, as such details could prove crucial.
The family is also asking that the appeal be shared widely in hopes of reaching individuals or agencies who may be able to provide clarity in this deeply distressing situation.
Anyone with information is encouraged to contact local maritime authorities or the relevant emergency response agencies.
