Vice-President of the New Democratic Party (NDP), St Clair Leacock, is projecting a decisive victory for his party in the upcoming general elections in St Vincent and the Grenadines, scheduled for Thursday, November 27, 2025.
Speaking at an NDP meeting on Wednesday night in Riley, Marriaqua, Leacock urged supporters to seize what he described as a pivotal moment in the nation’s political history.
“Be a part of this historic change next Thursday, when the New Democratic Party sweeps clear across St Vincent and the Grenadines and brings us into redemption day,” Leacock told the crowd. “Next Friday, a new dawn descends upon us in St Vincent.”
Leacock, who is also the NDP’s candidate for Central Kingstown, emphasized the importance of unity and loyalty among party supporters as the country heads into what he called a “unique time in the political history of St Vincent and the Grenadines.”
He reiterated the party’s long-held position that the nation is in urgent need of political change. “If the country ever needed change, that time is now,” he said.
Both the ruling Unity Labour Party (ULP) and the NDP are contesting all 15 constituencies, each fielding a full slate of candidates. The ULP, which first came to power in the 2001 general elections, is seeking an unprecedented sixth consecutive term in office.
