Candace Gordon-Llewellyn, the sister of murdered Prophetess Roseclair Williams, is calling on police to ensure that every possible line of inquiry was examined after Williams’s widower announced his engagement less than four months after her killing.
In a Facebook post attributed to Candace Gordon-Llewellyn, she said Pastor Leon Williams announced during a Sunday church service that he was engaged.
Clipet News has verified the engagement announcement. Its timing, by itself, is not evidence that Pastor Williams or any other person was involved in Roseclair Williams’s death.
Gordon-Llewellyn also made that distinction in her appeal.
“I am not publicly stating that her husband was involved simply because he is now engaged,” she wrote.
However, she asked the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force to confirm whether investigators thoroughly examined the widower’s timeline, statements, relationships, communications and any other potentially relevant evidence.
She further appealed to investigators not to base their conclusions about the accused man’s mental health on community descriptions or village talk.
Williams, 60, was killed on April 21, 2026, while tending plants in the yard of her Diamond home. She was a prophetess at Victory Kingdom Covenant Ministries International.
Initial reports said her body was discovered at approximately 1:15 p.m. with apparent stab wounds. Police reportedly reviewed CCTV footage from the area showing Williams in her garden when she was attacked by a man. Neither the footage nor a detailed police account of its contents was included in the reports reviewed by Clipet News.
The RSVGPF arrested and charged Diamond labourer Branson Paris, 31, with murder on May 12. Police alleged that Paris stabbed Williams about her body and cut her throat with a knife.
Paris appeared before the Serious Offences Court the following day. He was not required to plead because murder is an indictable offence, and the court ordered that he undergo a mental-health assessment.
At a subsequent hearing, the lead investigator reportedly told the court that doctors had initially deemed Paris fit to be interviewed. Police interviewed him, after which the Director of Public Prosecutions advised that the murder charge be laid.
Chief Magistrate Colin John later ordered a separate evaluation to determine whether Paris was fit to participate in court proceedings.
A psychiatric report subsequently found Paris mentally fit to take part in the court process. He was remanded at His Majesty’s Prisons, and the case was scheduled to return to court on August 20 2026.
A finding that an accused person is fit to participate in court proceedings does not determine guilt or innocence. Paris is presumed innocent unless and until he is convicted.
In her post, Gordon-Llewellyn said her family remains deeply affected by Williams’s death and wants reassurance that investigators considered all relevant evidence.
Some relatives and social-media commenters have expressed suspicion about the speed of Pastor Williams’s reported engagement. However, no evidence establishing that he, his reported fiancée or any other uncharged person was connected to Williams’s killing was presented in the post or in the published reports reviewed by Clipet News.
Pastor Williams, Victory Kingdom Covenant Ministries International and the RSVGPF should be given an opportunity to respond to the family’s questions. Any response received should be added to this report.
