A Paul’s Avenue man has been charged with indecent assault following an alleged encounter with a 13-year-old girl in the community.
The accused has been identified as Kingsley “Whiteman” Collis, a Vincentian known in the entertainment sector as a leader of the High Voltage Mas Band.
The incident is alleged to have occurred after the girl was sent by her mother and grandmother to Miss Ferdy’s Shop in Paul’s Avenue.
It is alleged that Collis stopped the girl as she was going about her errand. The girl reportedly greeted him “good morning,” and he returned the greeting before allegedly asking why she was not “showing him any love.”
The girl reportedly questioned the comment and asked what he meant by “showing love.”
According to the allegations, Collis then approached the girl, grabbed her hand and pulled her against his body. He is further accused of touching her buttocks, holding her around the waist and rubbing his genital area against hers.
The encounter reportedly attracted the attention of residents in the area, some of whom are said to have confronted Collis and questioned whether he knew whose daughter he was allegedly dealing with.
Police subsequently arrested and charged Collis on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, with indecent assault on a minor.
He has since been granted bail and is expected to return to Family Court in Kingstown as the matter proceeds.
Collis is a familiar figure in St Vincent and the Grenadines’ carnival community. He is the leader of High Voltage Mas Band, which has competed in the country’s annual Vincy Mas celebrations. Contemporary Vincentian reporting has previously identified him as the band’s leader.
The Royal Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force is investigating the matter, while the court will determine the outcome.
