A video posted today on Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves’ official Facebook page has caused major public discussion after Jamaican dancehall artiste Vybz Kartel delivered a message praising St. Vincent and the Grenadines and voicing strong support for the Prime Minister.

In the video, Kartel—whose image and voice are clearly featured—speaks directly to Vincentians, recalling the warm welcome and affection he said he has always received during visits to the country. He said he has “never forgotten the love and care” shown to him in St. Vincent and the Grenadines over the years.

Kartel goes on to say that the country “owes a lot” to Prime Minister Gonsalves, whom he referred to as “the World Boss.” He also urged Vincentians to “stay with greatness,” a message widely interpreted as a direct endorsement of Gonsalves and the ruling Unity Labour Party (ULP) ahead of the November 27 general election.

The video, posted by the Prime Minister himself, quickly circulated across social media platforms, drawing thousands of views and sparking intense political conversation nationwide. Many supporters shared the clip, noting Kartel’s influence in regional music and culture.

Kartel, whose real name is Adidja Palmer, remains one of the Caribbean’s most recognized and followed dancehall artists. His message arrives at a time when political messaging has intensified, with parties pushing to energize their bases in the final stretch before election day.

The general election is set for November 27, with campaigning now in its peak phase.
