A Vincentian police officer has spoken out after a video showing him and another man in a sexual encounter began circulating on social media, alleging that he was raped and saying the encounter was not something he had experienced before. The police officer who said he had never had that kind of encounter in his life with the man, who he described as a Rastafarian, and alleged that what happened was against his wishes. The video appears to have been recorded by a bystander and shows the two men inside a room. Cliplet News has viewed the footage but is not publishing it because it contains explicit sexual material. The video is understood to have been recorded by a person who came upon the two men, although Cliplet News has not independently confirmed who made the recording or how it was first shared online.
According to the officer, the other man was liming in the area when he approached him and asked him to accompany him to his home to assist with setting up a Google account.
The officer said that when he entered the house, he noticed that the television was on but there was nothing relating to the Google account that he had been told about.
He said he became suspicious about the situation and questioned what the man was doing.
The officer alleged that the man then picked a condom and pushed him onto a bed, after which the sexual encounter shown in the video took place. The officer said he did not go to the man’s home seeking a sexual encounter and had gone there because he was told he would be helping to set up a Google account.
The officer said that while the two were inside the house, a man identified as “Colin” entered with a cellphone and recorded them.
According to the officer, “Colin” subsequently left the residence with the video.
The officer said he told the other man that he wanted to leave, but the man told him that there were people upstairs on the roof with stones.
The police officer said he responded that the situation was the other man’s problem because he had only gone to the house to assist with setting up the Google account.
He said he eventually left the premises and went into the backyard, where the other man again approached him.
The officer said he told the man, to “Gwaan Par Yo Gwine” as he made his way home.
The officer further said that he was later attacked by individuals after leaving the house.
The officer said the incident has affected him and that he went to hospital following what he described as the later attack. He said he is also planning to go on sick leave.
It is not clear whether the officer has made a formal police report concerning the alleged sexual assault, the recording and circulation of the video, or the alleged subsequent attack. Cliplet News has not independently confirmed whether a police report was filed.
