Rise Hairouna, Inc., a registered nonprofit organization in the United States, remains steadfast in its mission to advance the safety, dignity, and well-being of vulnerable individuals—particularly women and children—throughout St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Over the years, our organization has implemented impactful initiatives that reflect our long-standing commitment to service, advocacy, and community resilience. We are proud to highlight several recent milestones:

Rebuilding After Hurricane Beryl – Canouan

With the generous support of a major donor, Rise Hairouna successfully completed the full reconstruction of a home and business for a resident of Canouan following the devastation caused by Hurricane Beryl. This project restored not only physical infrastructure, but also a family’s livelihood and sense of stability.

Advocacy, Education, and Community Support

Rise Hairouna continues to advocate for the rights and protection of all Vincentians. Over the years, we have implemented educational programs and delivered vital resources through food and clothing distributions. We have also supported families in rebuilding their homes and lives in the aftermath of national crises, including the La Soufrière volcanic eruption, the COVID-19 pandemic, and Hurricane Beryl.

Legislative Advocacy for Public Safety

In May 2025, Rise Hairouna formally submitted proposals to both the then-sitting Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines and the then opposition New Democratic Party (NDP), which was elected to office on November 27, 2025. These proposals called for the establishment of a national sex offenders registry and for raising the age of consent from 15 to 18 years old.

We are encouraged by the current government’s stated commitment to implementing a sex offenders registry and look forward to supporting the development and execution of this critical public safety measure. This initiative represents more than a decade of sustained advocacy by Rise Hairouna, and we remain proud to champion stronger protections for our communities.

Land Donation for a Women’s Sanctuary

Through the generosity of a Vincentian philanthropist and former entrepreneur, Rise Hairouna has received a donation of three (3) acres of land designated for the construction of a much-needed women’s sanctuary. This transformative project remains a priority as we continue securing funding and partnerships to bring it to life.

These accomplishments reflect the trust placed in us by our donors, partners, and the communities we serve—trust that we do not take lightly.

Response to Recent False Allegations

It is with deep concern that we address recent defamatory statements directed at Rise Hairouna and our President, Ms. Nailah John. Allegations of theft or mismanagement of funds are entirely false, malicious, and wholly unsupported by fact.

The Board of Directors categorically affirms that all funds raised—whether through awards dinners, private contributions, or institutional donors—are fully accounted for. Our financial systems are transparent, secure, and closely monitored. Every dollar received is used solely to advance our mission, including the development and programming of the women’s sanctuary.

Furthermore, members of the Board and Executive leadership have, over the years, personally contributed their own financial resources to support programs, projects, and individuals in need.

We strongly urge those engaging in or spreading false claims to cease immediately. Defamation harms not only the reputation of a credible organization and its leadership, but also undermines the critical work being done on behalf of vulnerable populations.

Rise Hairouna will continue to operate with integrity, transparency, and purpose. We remain committed to delivering meaningful, lasting change and extend our sincere gratitude to all who continue to stand with us on this journey.
